Tavisha Wolfgarth-Simons is an American/Japanese female artist who has been a professional anime/manga/indy style illustrator for over 15 years creating original graphic novel series such as ShutterBox vol. 1~4 (formally published by TokyoPop) , Super Information Hijinks: Reality Check! (now available thru itunes in their applications store~!) and Ranklechick and His Three- Legged Cat (formally published by SLG) with her writer/painter/voice talent husband, Rikki Simons. Currently they are working on a new webcomic called @tavicat to launch on their main site [link] this March 2009~!

3 Days ago as a stumbled upon getting back into reading Vampire Knight, as i was taking another volume my teacher says if i have any books that i'd like to recommend that i should.
And i say "you should get shutterbox! its amazing!"

Looking back at manga and your work really reminds me of when i was 10 and first contacted you becuase i wanted to become a manga artist. Im having trouble though D: getting back into the current is hard; Do you have tips because before you really helped me. Im having problems with drawing the head just facing forward, proportion and just bodies totally fail XD how did you learn to draw hands?
do you have any pictures of your childhood drawings?
anyway AMAZING work as always
I cant wait for 6 even though it on hold, forever my favorite book shutterbox shall remain.

I was wondering when Shutterbox volume 5 and the series itself would be completed? I really want to know how it's going to end! I've been dying to know for six years now!

Hello~! Thank you so very much for your love & suport for our ShutterBox series. Unfortunately, TokyoPop canceled the series last year in June (2008) and has put the books out-of-print this year. We were just finishing up with vol. 5 when TokyoPop canceled it. Rikki and I have been trying to find a suitable publisher to take the series and for us to continue it. Vol. 5 is done and we have planned 6 books to the series. We recently had a publisher interested in publishing ShutterBox, but now Tokyopop says they own our film rights to the series, which we and our lawyer are disputing with them now. We hope ShutterBox will have a new publisher by next year. We'll keep everyone posted with any new developments. Thanks so much again :heart:
